Who we are

Anti Scam AI Guard is operated by ANTISCAMAIGUARD LTD, trading as “Anti Scam AI Guard”, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17492297) (“we”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact: support@antiscamaiguard.co.uk.

What the app does

The app helps you assess whether a message, link, image, audio clip or business may be a scam. It only processes content you choose to submit. It does not read your SMS, emails or notifications in the background and does not listen to your microphone unless you start a scan that uses it.

Data we handle

• Account details: your email address and a password-based sign-in, handled by Firebase Authentication (Google).
• Content you scan: text, links, screenshots/photos (camera or gallery, only when you pick them) and speech you dictate (microphone, only when you tap to listen). To produce a result this may be sent to the services listed below.
• Scan history: stored on your device so you can review past checks.
• Community reports: if you submit a scam report (optionally with a photo or audio as evidence), it is stored with your account ID and is reviewed by us before anything is shown to other users.
• Technical data: basic device and diagnostic information processed by Google/Firebase to run the service.

Third-party services

To analyse content the app may send it to: Google (Gemini AI, Cloud Vision, Web Risk, Firebase), the Financial Conduct Authority register, Companies House, and PhishTank. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Please don’t scan content containing passwords, full card numbers or other information you wouldn’t want shared.

Why we use your data (UK GDPR)

To provide the service you request (contract), to keep it secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), and to review community reports (legitimate interests). We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Community reports may be kept for as long as needed to run and moderate the service. Scan history stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to processing, by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 13.

Results are automated indications only and may be wrong. They are not legal or financial advice.

Changes

We will update this page and its date if this policy changes.
